Huzzah! Someone has finally got off their arse and written some reviews for this goddamn comic library! Added a link to the British Retinitis Pigmentosa Society website on the Main Page.

21 November 1999

Updated the library.

20 November 1999

Finally completed Version 5.2. It took for ever! I am so not making Version 6.1 until, at the earliest, February 2000.

Anyway, I also made a whole load of little modifications all over the library. None of which you'll notice of course, but they make me feel all gooey so that's okay. I also fixed the title bar up there because the part which says Version 5.2 was a little screwed up.

I also went back through the news pages and changed them so that, from 26th June onwards, whenever I updated the library online the date is in red. I didn't do this for dates before this because I pretty much updated it every day back then.

And I finally got round to creating that Why should I use Internet Explorer? page. Enjoy.

18 November 1999

Changed the title font from Arial to Maiandra GD. So download that bad boy now! (If you don't already have it of course...)

Bought, and wrote data pages for; Danger Girl #6, Gen13 #46, Kabuki Agents (Scarab) #2, Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Spike and Dru #2, Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi - Manga - Volume Three, Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi - Manga - Volume Four and Wizard #2000. Also created the Captain Marvel and Captain Marvel #0 pages.

29 October 1999

Wo ho ho! There are two covers for The Dirty Pair: Run from the Future #1, the new Dirty Pair mini-series starting in January. Pretty kewl, no? Said comic is gonna rock so much it hurts! There are also gonna be three variant covers, by Brian Stelfreeze, Bruce Timm and Humberto Ramos. I'll stick some scans up as soon as I get hold of 'em. Now run off to your local comic shop and order loads of copies goddamnit!

I also updated The Ickle David Mack Shrine!

17 October 1999

Updated the library from home.

Yay! I'm back on-line! Since the end of June I've been banned from using the internet at home. Now that Freeserve have done that thang with BT however, it means I get to use the internet, for free, ten hours a month, and my dad gets 10% off his phone calls. Huzzah! Now I can go back to updating the library way more often than I have been. And since I just got a job I'll also be getting a load more comics than I usually do! The world just keeps getting better and better!!!

Also, got a scan of the variant cover for Battle Chasers #6.

15 October 1999

Added the game T-Bone's Stress Relief Aquarium 2.1 to the Downloads page.

Also created the Battle Chasers and Divine Intervention pages.

Yay! A new Dirty Pair mini-series is soon to start! The working title is "Dirty Pair: Run from the Future" and it should see comic shops early next year. Written and illustrated by Adam Warren and coloured by Ryan Kinnaird, this will be one kick @$$ comic.

9 October 1999

Also added a new wallpaper to the Downloads page.

21 September 1999

Mega Kewl!!! I got a letter printed in Gen13 #45! Check out the letters page at the back of the book to read it. Actually, if you don't get Gen13, this is just pointless... so I'll scan it in for you! And for all you loyal fans of me out there, I'll include the original e-mail I sent in. Here are the letters.

And now for the regular stuff.

Bought, and wrote data pages for, Divine Right #11, DV8 #31, Gen13 #44, Gen13 #45, Kabuki Agents (Scarab) #1, Divine Intervention / Wildcats #1, Buffy The Vampire Slayer #12, Buffy The Vampire Slayer Annual 1999, Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi - Manga - Volume One, Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi - Manga - Volume Two, Kabuki: Skin Deep Vol. 1 No. 3 and Wizard #98. Also wrote the data page for The Nine Rings of Wu-Tang #0 and created the Divine Right and The Nine Rings of Wu-Tang pages.

Added a new wallpaper to the Downloads page. Overhauled the Links section. Updated the About the Library page. And updated The Ickle Adam Warren Shrine! and The Ickle David Mack Shrine!

15 September 1999

Went through every single goddamn page in the library, changing the <style> and <body> tags, so that instead of links looking all boring and underlined and crap, they now change colour when you move your cursor over them. And they're not underlined. You'd better appreciate the effort I went to...

12 September 1999

Updated the library at Michelle's house. Huzzah!

7 September 1999

Changed the sound you hear when you enter the library from "You're f~~king psychotic!" to "Don't stop me now, if you wanna have a good time". You can download both from the Downloads page.

6 September 1999

Wrote the data page for Jim Spaceborn: The Unknown Galaxy. Also created the Jim Spaceborn page.

4 September 1999

Wrote the data page for Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Dust Waltz.

3 September 1999

Created the Looking for depraved filth? page.

Also, I've found out that I didn't actually upload the megasad2.zip file (the second theme on the Downloads page) when I updated the site way back on 14th August 1999. I'll do so when I next update the site. Sorry for the inconvenience.

And I also fixed the Guestbook, which has been down for over a month...

14 August 1999

Updated the library by using Ian's phoneline. Thank you Ian!

Anyway, I'm going on holiday for the next few weeks, but, since I update the site so infrequently anyway, you probably won't notice the difference...

Actually... major decision / statement / thingy about to happen;

If you read Danger Girl (when it comes out) the one thing that probably annoys you the most is when they PROMISE they're gonna get the next issue out by such and such a date. And then they don't. In fact, they're usually about two or three months wrong. Now, if you've been coming to this site, every week or so, hoping I'll have updated it, you're probably feeling the same kind of annoyance at me as you are at J. Scott Campbell et al (I flatter myself...).

Anyway, to set the record straight. I do not have internet access at home any more. Therefore, the only way for me to update my site is by going round friends' houses and using their phone lines. Since I want to keep my friends however, I cannot impose on them too much. Therefore, to get rid of any future misunderstandings, let me now say that you, honoured visitor, can expect Caleb Newcastle's Sad and Obsessive Comic Library to be updated...

At Least Once A Month!

I don't know when, I don't know how, but At Least Once A Month! is the new schedule for me to update the library. I may be able to update it more often, I may not, but you can DEPEND on the fact that At least once a month! I will update the library. Thank you for your time.

13 August 1999

Finally found out that the actress who plays Drusilla in Buffy The Vampire Slayer is Juliet Landau. Was therefore able to complete the Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Spike and Dru #1 page.

9 August 1999

Added a ZIP of WS_FTP LE to the Downloads page.

Also, I changed the description of the WAV file available to download to "You're f~~king psychotic!". I did this, not because I think you can't handle reading what you can hear, but because I'm gonna be submitting this library as my final A-Level Computing project. My school's computers have this screwed up security thingy on them which stops pages being displayed if they have any "bad words" on them... pathetic really. That's why.

6 August 1999

Bought, and wrote the data page for, Rising Stars Vol. 1, Issue 1. Also created the Rising Stars page.

4 August 1999

Did a load more work on The Ickle Adam Warren Shrine!, The Ickle J. Scott Campbell Shrine! and The Ickle David Mack Shrine!

3 August 1999

Got round to making The Ickle David Mack Shrine! for real.

2 August 1999

Updated The Ickle Adam Warren Shrine!, The Ickle J. Scott Campbell Shrine! and the Features page.

1 August 1999

Attempted to update the library at Michelle's house, but was unsuccessful due to the lack of a decent FTP.

31 July 1999

Wrote the data page for Wizard's Guide To... Pokémon Vol. 1. Also created the Pokémon page. Also updated about 65 pages with little adjustments here and there.

29 July 1999

Bought, and wrote data pages for, the following; DV8 #30, Buffy The Vampire Slayer #11 and Wizard #97. Also wrote the data page for Kabuki Vol. 1 No. 8 and Batman: Dark Victory #0.

25 July 1999

Totally updated the Downloads section, adding a new theme and a new wallpaper.

Also, I magic-taped my entire comic collection. Most of them were secured in their comic bags with sellotape, and I realised that in a few years this would go all brittle and yellow. So I invested in some magic-tape and now all my comics are happy bunnies. Yay!

24 July 1999

Hey hey! Sorry that the library hasn't been updated in a while (almost a month!!!) but you see I no longer have home access to the internet! My parents found out about me connecting to it in the middle of the night before I had a chance to tell them (see 26th June 1999), and because they were really, really angry they confiscated my computer. Luckily, about a week later, I got it back. However, I can no longer go on the internet (at home) until I get my Freecall account. But since I can't check my e-mails this could take a while... Anyway, until I get that sorted out I'm probably only gonna be able to update this site every week or so, so I'm afraid the Reviews Competition (check out the Features section if you don't know what I'm talking about) has been extended until next month... and now you'll have until the first Saturday of every month to get your entries in by!

Another thing that you should probably be aware of is that although I haven't been able to update the site in a few weeks that doesn't mean I don't make changes to it. For that reason you might want to check out the news at the top of the News and New Stuff - June 1999 page. News bulletins are dated when I wrote them as opposed to when I actually got round to updating the site.

Ummm... that's about it I think! Again, sorry for the delay in updating the site, but it shouldn't be a problem from now on... (famous last words [--a la Danger Girl!--])

22 July 1999

Bought, and wrote the data page for, Gen13 #43.

21 July 1999

Updated the Keywords list on the Welcome Page so that finding the library is easier.

20 July 1999

Added an image of the Dynamic Forces Variant Cover (without cover design elements etc.) of Danger Girl #5.

15 July 1999

Bought, and wrote data pages for, the following comics; DV8 #28, Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Angel #3 and X-Men Vol. 1, No. 8. Also created the X-Men page.

14 July 1999

Wrote data pages for the following; Star Wars: Episode 1 - Qui-Gon Jinn, Star Wars: Episode 1 - Queen Amidala and Wizard #96. Also created the Wizard page.

10 July 1999

Started to use the happy and sad face graphics to indicate my opinions on stuff. So I nicked them from the Gen13.com website? What's the problem with that? I'm too lazy to make my own damnit!

9 July 1999

Updated the E-mailing your review page.

7 July 1999

Updated the Guestbook, Search the Library and Links pages.

6 July 1999

Updated the About the Library page.

5 July 1999

Bought Fathom Swimsuit Special Vol. 1 Issue 1, wrote its data page and also wrote data pages for the following comics; DV8 #29, Wild Times: DV8 #1, Wild Times: Gen13 #1 and Buffy The Vampire Slayer #10. Also created the Fathom and Aspen - By J. Scott Campbell pages.

And I also added a ZIP of a game called Get Saddam to the Downloads section.

29 June 1999

Because the Links page was getting larger and larger I've decided to split it up into four sections: Fan Comic Sites, Official Comic Sites, Celebrity Sites and Miscellaneous Sites.

I also added links to The MM Files: A Site Dedicated to Meredith Monroe and For Love of Noni, Winona Ryder Site on the Links page.

I removed, from every single page in the library, the "back" buttons. I originally had them because in all the previous versions of Caleb Newcastle's Sad and Obsessive Comic Library I had always had options to return to the previous page, in one form or another. However, since they don't work properly in Netscape Navigator, and as I'm fairly sure that most of you know how to use the Back button in your browser, I've decided to get rid of them. They were starting to piss me off anyway...

27 June 1999

Totally updated the About the Library page.

Added the opening sound to the site. Go to the Downloads section to download it!

Created the Gen13 Bootleg - Grunge: The Movie - Graphic Novel Cover page.

26 June 1999

Hi! I'm afraid I've got some good / bad news. Since I set up this site I've been updating it every few days. The bad news is that, in the future, I'm gonna have to limit my updating of the site to once a week. You see, I'm not actually allowed on the internet. I'm only sixteen (nearly seventeen!), and so I still live at home. Whilst I could afford to go on the internet (since I use Freeserve I'd only have to pay for the local call) my Dad won't let me. Period. So for the last two months or so I've been going on the internet late at night, at about 2:00AM - 4:00AM, in secret. Within the next few weeks however the Phone Bill will be coming through the door... When this happens the shit will, quite literally, hit the fan. In all probability my computer will be confiscated from my room and moved downstairs. This will make it much harder for me to update the site. But fear not! I am in the process of setting up an account with Freecall. This will provide me with an 0800 number to connect to the internet. This will not show up on the phone bill and so I will be safe. I'm gonna try telling my Dad about me going on the internet before the phone bill comes, and try to persuade him to let me keep my computer. Hopefully he'll just make me pay the bill! The good news is that whatever happens, this site will survive!!!

Oh, and I added another new wallpaper to the Downloads section.

23 June 1999

I finally got off my arse and made a megasad theme. Check it out in the Downloads section. I also scanned in The Birthday Crossover... #2, so you can download that as well. And I made a new wallpaper... oh, screw it! Let's just say that I totally overhauled the Downloads section.

I also added the little pictures at the top of the pages (such as the one at the top of this one). Don't know why... just felt like it!

22 June 1999

Moved The HomePage from my MEGASAD freeserve account to my MEGASAD2 account. Freed up about 500KB by doing so. In future I'm going to keep the MEGASAD account for the comic library and Mega Sad Productions, and the MEGASAD2 account for ZIPs and extra websites that I build. Also found out that Gary Cole (Sheriff Lucas Buck from American Gothic) is going to be the new captain in Babylon Crusade. Sweeet!

20 June 1999

Set up another Freeserve account (MEGASAD2). So now I have 30MB of webspace!!! I'm going to be scanning in a lot of comics over the next few weeks and putting them as packaged ZIPs in this new space. Today I added the ZIP of The Birthday Crossover... #3, made a very cool new Main Page and totally updated the About the Library page.

19 June 1999

Bought some comics and wrote their data-pages; Gen13 #42 and Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Angel #2. Also updated the About the Library page.

18 June 1999

Wrote data pages for the following comics; Star Wars: Episode 1 - Anakin Skywalker, Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace #1, Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace #2, Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace #3, Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace #4 and Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron - The Phantom Affair. Also got rid of the Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron page and replaced it with the Star Wars page.

15 June 1999

Totally updated the Guestbook and Search Engine pages.

14 June 1999

Added a Guestbook and a Search Engine, and got rid of the Frequently Asked Questions page (no-one was asking any questions anyway...).

12 June 1999

Updated the library a little so that it works better in Internet Explorer 5.0.

10 June 1999

Hey, wow! Here are some sweet pictures of what those cool Danger Girl toys look like...

Pretty amazing, no? I just wish I could buy them all (except Major Maxim of course), but, alas, I lack the necessary funds (~£45.00). But hey! If you want to buy them for me and give them to me as a present, please feel free to do so. You will gain a friend for life!

9 June 1999

Added a link to the Meredith Monroe - Official Site on the Links page.

8 June 1999

Bought some comics and wrote their data-pages; Gen13 #41 and Buffy The Vampire Slayer #9. Also added a link to www.fanboycomics.com on the Links page.

And finally... Danger Girl toys are here!!! Or rather they will be in August. They're sculpted by McFarlane Toys so they look excellent. Only problem is that I live in England. So they're gonna cost me about ~£15.00 each!!! Oh well, I'll buy the Abbey Chase one and try and get my friends to buy the others (Sydney Savage, Natalia Kassle and Major Maxim.) Mega bad thing that there's no Silicon Valerie though. She would have been much better than that manky Major Maxim smeg-head (AKA box-filler / space-waster / extra-packaging).

Craig, one of the blokes who runs the Fanboy Comics & Cards shop, was talking about how they might do a special bonus figure of Silicon Valerie, which you'd only get if you bought a box of twelve, and then there'd only be one of her in the box. But I think this was just some speculation / day-dreaming / whatever. Here's hoping though!

7 June 1999

Finally got the Variant Cover for DV8 #0.

6 June 1999

Redesigned the News and New Stuff section so that news bulletins are divided up into the month in which they were published.

Added original covers for Appleseed: The Scales of Prometheus, Bubblegum Crisis: Grand Mal, The Dirty Pair: Biohazards, The Dirty Pair: Dangerous Acquaintances and created The Dirty Pair - Fatal But Not Serious - Graphic Novel Cover page.

And I totally updated The Ickle Adam Warren Shrine! and The Ickle J. Scott Campbell Shrine!

5 June 1999

Created the new Features section, and launched the new Reviews Competition. Also added a link to Dawson's Creek on the Links page.

30 May 1999

Redesigned the Links page and added a link to the UK Jedi Academy, a site I'm redesigning for a friend of mine.

29 May 1999

Can you say Yaga Mughi!!! Danger Girl #5 is out!!! And it's on time!!!!! This issue kicks @$$ by the way.

27 May 1999

Bought some comics and wrote their data-pages; Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron - The Warrior Princess, The Batman Adventures, The Batman Adventures: Mad Love, Batman: Scottish Connection, Green Lantern: Ganthet's Tale, Hellblazer: Dangerous Habits, Justice League: A Midsummer's Nightmare, Transmetropolitan: Back On The Street and Wonder Woman: Lifelines.

These aren't the type of comics I'd usually buy, and there's no way I could ordinarily afford this many in one go. However, I got all these books at a shop that for some reason was selling them at ~£1.00 each!!! This is an unbelievably sweet deal, as one of them usually retails for as much as ~£12.99!!!!! In fact I bought ~£65.91 worth of books for only ~£9.00!!!!!!!!!! (sweeeeet...)

26 May 1999

Yay!!! There have been ten more visitors to my sad and obsessive comic library over the last three days!!! When I logged off on 23rd May 1999 there had been 18 visitors (all of whom were actually me, checking that the new links etc. worked okay). When I went to update the library today this number had risen to 28!!!!! (Of course this could have been one person who kept refreshing my main page... but I don't want to think like that!) I'm guessing that this sudden increase in traffic to my site (from 0 to 10) is thanks to the GaiaTeam Homepage, which has just put a link to my site on its links page. Thank you GaiaTeam!!!

Also, I've done a slight overhaul on the Image Comics section of the library. Basically, I've added to the Also see... sections of all the titles which were involved in that Fire From Heaven crossover thingy from 1996. Now you can find out which other WildStorm titles your favourite characters appeared in. I know this was three years ago, but if you've just started picking up a title and are anxious to get all the back issues starring your new favourite characters, this update will probably be of some help to you. Anyway, I'm sad and obsessive goddamnit!

And finally... I've updated an old news bulletin. That of 11th May 1999. Check it out for some sad and obsessive ramblings.

And finally (for real this time) I've also made a new main page! Yay!!!

23 May 1999

Bought some comics and wrote their data-pages; C.H.I.X. #1, DV8 Rave #1, Gen13 Interactive #3, Kabuki Gallery Vol. 1 #1 and Wetworks #17.

I just finished re-reading all of my Appleseed books. Masamune Shirow is GOD!!! Get hold of some copies and read them as soon as you can! Oh, and Appleseed 5 is scheduled for release in late 1999 / early 2000. So expect it some time in 2005...

22 May 1999

Danger Girl #5 is finally gonna be published! The release date is currently set as 26th May. Here's hoping that we get it by the end of June!

19 May 1999

Got a link banner for the Crawlspace website. Check out the Links page to see it.

18 May 1999

Mega Sad Comics section updated. I've scanned in some of my own comics and packaged them as single ZIP files. Download the ZIP file, unzip it, and then open (and read) the README.HTM file.

17 May 1999

Bought some comics and wrote their data-pages; DV8 #27, Gen13 #40 and Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Angel #1.

15 May 1999

Yay! Version 5.1 is finally complete! It's a day late but I've got a good excuse! You see, yesterday I bought Manga Max Vol. 1 No. 6. Within a very cool article about Adam Warren there was a reference to the GaiaTeam Homepage. Upon checking it out I discovered an unbelievably cool shrine to the uber-cool Adam Warren. Within were located the scanned images of all The Dirty Pair mini-series' covers which I have been looking for for ages! So after a bit of last-minute image-editing and HTML-writing, I can now present (--wait for it--)

Caleb Newcastle's Sad and Obsessive Comic Library - Version 5.1.

11 May 1999

What's happened to the Dynamic Forces Danger Girl Special??? I'll tell you!!! Because of J. Scott Campbell's continued slowness in producing the Danger Girl comics, DC (who now own WildStorm and Cliffhanger) have decided to pull the Danger Girl Special away from Dynamic Forces and re-schedule it as a DC special for some time in September or October. The hope is that by this time Campbell will have finally gotten round to finishing off the original seven issue story arc. (about 14 months late...)

It's not fair GODDAMNIT!!!!! We get sod-all Danger Girl as it is (four issues over the last FIFTEEN months!!!) And now we have to wait another four or five months for this (probably) sweet story!!!!!

Okay. Calm down. Just think of J. Scott Campbell as the Western Masamune Shirow... He produces very little work. He takes way too long to do it. But what he does produce is usually a billion times better than anything else out there. So relax. Kick back. And think of Danger Girl as a bonus-comic you'll occasionally find amongst your regular titles.

8 May 1999

Hello! This is the latest version of my sad and obsessive comic library! This is the news page where I'll be writing all the new crap that I find out. I'll update this page every week or so and it'll probably be pretty sweet. Enjoy!
