Live and Let

My own opinion is, "live and let live." If my two oldest sisters, 13 and 18 years, want to go out at all night, get drunk, dance hard, live life, I am happy for them, wish them well.

However, it is not quite as simple as that. For, you see, I have a mother and a father to compliment these two sisters of mine. And they worry, worry hard, when my sisters do these things that they do.

An example, earlier tonight; my 13 year old sister, let's call her Yelena, went to a party with her friend. Returned by 10pm, counting on sleeping in a tent, in our garden. But lo! What is this? A cunning plan to sneak two young boys inside of said tent?! Thwarted at every turn by my investigative mother (not hard; they had keys to The Outside, boys were seen and heard scrambling over the wall when my dad went into the garden), they promise to go up to my sister's bedroom, sleep the rest of the night inside...

Two hours later, my mother is very worried, has called the police; they've disappeared from the house! Nowhere to be found! Have they returned to the party? Met up with said boys? Died a...

Hot dog! Policemen are here! Tall policemen! Tall tall!

Why are they here? Has my sister died a horrible death? Nay, nothing so dramatic. In point of fact, she was found a half hour previous, in a shed, in our garden, her friend and two boys.

Fresh faced boys! Not more then 13 years of age, they were mighty sheepish. I felt sorry for them.

So, the police talk to my sister and her friend, hopefully instil some sense that they did wrong...

Pah. I see nothing wrong with what my sister wants, only the means by which she tries. Lying to parents, stealing monies to fund debaucheries, executing shoddy plans regardless of the fact that they have been compromised... is she Dennis Hopper's character's son, with the glasses, in 24? No...

I thought she was smarter than this.

Do not shit on your plate.
